Professional Associations

Ian was a Director for five consecutive years on the executive board of SPARS (Society of Professional Audio Recording Services) USA, which is composed of major studio owners and key figures in the audio industry in the US.  Also he was the  founder of the first Canadian chapter of SPARS (1992).  President of SPARS-QUEBEC, and head of its committee for multimedia and new media, as well as its committee for emerging digital technologies for four consecutive years.

Writer/Columist

Columnist for Medialine (a United Entertainment Media Publication) from 1996-2003.  This is a monthly publication targeted to Audio and Video replicators and producers.

Consulting Editor and columnist for Soundworks (Raffles Trade Press) 1994-95.  This premier magazine served the Audio/Music industry in seven countries: Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia, Thailand, Phillipines, Hong Kong & Taiwan.

Freelance contributer to ProSound News, EQ,  Medialine & SPARS Datatrack.

Research/Travel

Ian was hired in 1993 and 1994  to conduct a survey of emerging audio/visual technology trends & needs in Southeast Asia. He travelled to Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia, Thailand and Hong Kong more than ten times for research.  The resulting "white paper" was used by the Quebec & Canadian Government as reference on the audio/visual industry in Southeast Asia.

Extensive travel to Montreal, Toronto, New York, Los Angeles, Nashville, London, Paris, Buenos Aires and South Africa for recording projects.
